Peak Sneaking

30 Days of Biking 2018 Mileage Total: 104.4

If you've been riding along, you may have noticed that my total mileage hasn't gone up significantly the last couple days. The real beauty of 30 Days of Biking is that it doesn't matter how many miles you log as long as you simply ride at least once a day. I only had time to sneak in two short rides this weekend, both in and around the parking lots at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe. It's just as well because the weather wasn't that great for riding anyway. Though short, the rides did provide excellent views from the front side of the venue:

As for the rest of the weekend, I spent it mostly indoors televising the American Cancer Society Telethon. It's two days of music and entertainment in support of raising money for cancer research. Both days, the program runs non-stop between Noon and Midnight. You might think that because of all the happenings, it would look pretty crazy inside the venue. I'm actually pretty impressed by how clean everything looks from above:

More than a day and a half of set up and dozens of helpers later, the event went off without a hitch and the Cancer Society reached their goal. Good news all around.

Things can go back to "normal" today, if there is such a thing. This concludes the busiest non-biking stretch of 30DoB for me. Nothing is set in stone, but I have some adventurous plans for the last 3 weeks...
