Day 9 of 30: Weathering the Storm

After a long work week, the fam and I decided to spend an evening out on Friday. The weather was supposed to be beautiful. We don't eat out very often of late, but when we do, we prefer to be outside. There was a food truck at my favourite local bar, Hop Yard 62, which is just 2 miles riding distance from the house. Finally getting the whole family involved in 30 Days of Biking seemed like a win/win, no?

It didn't start out as such. In Central Ohio, weather patterns tend to shift quite often. We arrived at the bar just before some rain showers moved in. We appropriately covered our seats:

Thankfully there were no actual downpours, just some light drizzle that we mostly avoided. You can see some on my helmet, and also the sun peeking through in the background:

It turned out that we were rewarded for waiting things out and "weathering the storm" so to speak, because we were presented with this a few minutes later:

And of course, the kiddo decided to have some fun with our helmets:

The ride home was about as pleasant as it gets for this time of year:

And we rewarded ourselves with a campfire, first one of the season:

Sadly, the weather for this weekend looks quite shabby overall. I'll sneak in rides when I can, for sure, but I have no expectations of any of them living up to how the weekend started. Anywho, I hope YOU enjoy YOUR weekend.
